“Alright good people, it’s that time again: hot dogs and hamburgers are on, so come on over!”3/26/2018 For eight (8) Wednesday evenings during the summer Christ Presbyterian Church in The Hill rolls a grill into Trowbridge Square Park in the Hill (New Haven, CT). The good people of CPC in The Hill bring dishes, fruits, salads, and some dessert. We offer a small feast to whomever happens to be in the park that evening. Sometimes, for some, it will be there only meal for the day. Click the picture to go to the GoFundMe page and help us make this ministry happen. Thanks in Advance. The good people of the park—dad’s spending some time with their kids, single moms giving their children some energy release, neighbors hanging out, plenty of unparented teens, and the homeless, the addicted, and even some gang members. They are all invited to join us for a short message (i.e., some park preaching) and a prayer (for them, for the Hill, and thanks for the food)—and they do come to hear the Word even though they know they'd still be able to come eat even if they waited for 5 to 10 minutes. Now easily an average of 65, sometimes 80, and even up to 90 will gather. Listen. Pray. And, then, eat.
These eight evenings are our church’s signature ministry. And, this year, we need some help to cover the costs for this ministry. We need a new grill and some supplies. And, although our church family brings home-cooked dishes and deserts (from their own tables), between incidentals, weekly supplies, the hot dogs and hamburgers, propane, equipment, and some outreach items—with the growing crowds who join us—each Wednesday park ministry costs about $195. Add in a new grill, grilling supplies, and propane, our end of the summer BBQ school supplies we give away, and add a few dollars in our goal, so we may also have some resources to help some of those to whom we ministry––will need this year about $2,000. Click the picture below to connect to our GoFundMe page and help us to ensure we can love on our park neighbors this summer.

Shop and Change Lives & Use CPCHiLL20 ![]() Starting January 22 and then for the month of February, Lisa, my wife, and I have partnered with Living Bread Ministries so we can both raise support for our church plant in The Hill (in New Haven, CT) and, at the same time, support a ministry that seeks to “help women vulnerable to human trafficking by helping them start businesses.” You can peruse the Freegrance site (freegrance.com) for all the information on this wonderful church planting enterprise that seeks to empower those at risk so they may stop intergenerational poverty and from being exploited. As this fundraiser moves through the month of February, I’ll be posting items that highlight the parallels of our two ministries (i.e., CPC in The Hill and Living Bread Ministries). Meanwhile feel free to shop . . . just use CPCHiLL20. Using the code CPCHiLL20 in the discount box allows LBM to track those who are shopping to support CPC in The Hill. Twenty percent (20%) of your purchases will go toward our own fundraising efforts here in The Hill. Lisa and I have used the soaps and they are wonderful. My favorite is the Bamboo Charcoal. Yes, that’s right I will be turning 60 on December 11th. FB and other platforms give birthday-boys and -girls the opportunity to raise funds for a special charity—and there are so many good ones that need our charitableness. But these platforms take a percentage from your gift. I have a better idea. Some of my FB friends have asked how they can give to our church plant online. So, I have decided to open this up for my 60th and ask if you’d help me celebrate by supporting our church plant and ministry in The Hill (New Haven, CT). We have our own platform for donations, so 100% will go toward the church plant. As most of you know, I was recently ordained in the Presbyterian Church in American (the PCA) on 9/16 and installed as the pastor of CPC in The Hill on 11/19—it has been a busy quarter! Our next step is to move into the Hill. Which will all depend on us raising our support. Please help make this happen. We are currently at 59% of our annual goal (our fiscal year is Sep 1-Aug 30), leaving approximately 16K to go. Help us to get over the 75% mark by raising $6,200 between now and December 31st. Your gifts, support, and partnership will be greatly appreciated. I will post this or something like this almost every day until the end of 2017. Again, thanks for considering . . . and please continue to pray for us! Here's the best way to give (online). CPCintheHill.org > Donate > Donation Applied > “Hill Church Planter–Rev. Chip Anderson” *If you'd prefer to mail your support, please send your donation to CPC New Haven 135 Whitney Ave New Haven, CT 06510. Checks should be made out to "CPC New Haven"; in the memo please write "Hill/CA." And yes, this is tax deductible as well. |
